Grind

Built because the folder was full and nothing was findable.

Grind is desktop software for producers, made by one.

Why it exists

Every producer with more than a few years of work has the same two problems, and neither of them is making beats. The first is that the library outgrew the folder structure years ago. The second is that a beat leaves the machine and the thread ends: you do not know who opened it, you do not know what happened, and you often find out about your own placements from somebody else.

Grind was built to close that loop. It reads the folders that already exist, keeps a record for every beat, and follows that record from the session it was made in to the release it ended up on.

How it is built

A desktop app, because the library lives on a desktop. Your audio stays on your machine, in the folders you chose, under the names you gave them. The one time audio leaves is a pack you build and send yourself, to your own connected Dropbox.

It is not an AI company and it does not want to be. There is no model listening to your library and nothing trains on your work. Genre suggestion runs on your device, from tags you wrote, and never overwrites a tag you set by hand.

Who is behind it

Grind is operated by its founder, based in France. There is no team page because there is no team yet, and inventing one would be the first thing on this site that was not true.
